Mike Vrabel is admittedly “very” concerned about the state of his New England Patriots team on Sunday night.
The Patriots dropped to 1-2 on the season on Sunday. New England was blown out by Jacksonville on the road. The Patriots lost to the Seahawks in Week 1 before taking down the Steelers at home.
Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who was second in the league’s MVP voting last year, has been pretty terrible. He’s thrown six interceptions in three games. When you’re not taking care of the football, things can get bad – and quickly.
Vrabel admitted postgame that everyone needs to be much better, especially his quarterback.

Vrabel said postgame that the “concern level is very high for this football team” after Sunday’s loss.
The Patriots head coach is making a point to call out Maye for his lack of ball security right now.
“I try to talk to him about taking the ball and putting it where it’s supposed to go. . . . I think he knows what to do,” Vrabel said. “I think we have to do it better. We all want to make plays, we just have to make good ones. And if it’s not there, we have to make a great decision. I think sometimes you can want it too badly, but we can’t force anything”
It’s only been three games, but so far, this does not look anything close to a Super Bowl caliber team, which was the expectation for the Patriots coming into the season, following a tough loss to the Seahawks at the end of last year.
New England will look to right the ship against the Bills in Week 4, though that’ll be tough.
