Mike Trout had a brief message after receiving another notable honor from the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association.
The Los Angeles Angels star was presented with the 2026 Heart and Hustle Award before a home game at Angel Stadium, recognizing his passion for baseball and the way he represents the game's values and traditions.
Trout later shared photos from the presentation on X. In the post, he kept his reaction short, writing, “Always an honor. Thank you” while thanking those involved in the recognition.
The honor comes during another challenging season for Trout and the Angels. The veteran has dealt with another injury interruption but has continued to provide production when available.
Trout has appeared in 104 games this season, batting .244 with 20 home runs, 45 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. He also owns a .386 on-base percentage, supported by 82 walks.
The award adds another positive moment to a difficult year for an Angels club sitting at the bottom of the American League West. Los Angeles entered Saturday with a 48-75 record and remains well outside the postseason picture.
Trout's season has also included a return to the All-Star Game for the first time since 2023. He spent time on the injured list earlier this year with a right hamstring strain before returning in July.

Despite another interruption, Trout has remained an important part of the Angels' lineup and clubhouse. His experience continues to make him a central figure as the organization evaluates its younger players and looks toward the future.
The Heart and Hustle Award also carries personal significance for Trout. He previously won the overall award in 2012, making Friday's recognition another reminder of the reputation he has built throughout his career.
For the Angels, the presentation provided a chance to celebrate one of the franchise's most accomplished players during a difficult season. Trout's response was brief, but it showed that the recognition remains meaningful to him.
