NBC's Mike Tirico has been one of the best in the business for a long time and this year's Winter Olympics were no different.

After calling Super Bowl 60 alongside partner Cris Collinsworth, Tirico immediately pivoted into the network's Milan Cortina coverage without missing a beat which drew praise from a number of fans.

And with Sunday's inspirational wrap-up, Tirico put a bow yet another excellent broadcasting performance.

Telling the audience: “For all the young people out there... those dreams are formed now. Go chase them and go get them. Because our country loves sports and it brings us together unlike anything else. And if you didn’t know that… you saw it in Team USA hockey winning the gold over their arch rival Canada.”

Mike Tirico credits Marv Albert for influence on his, others careers

During a recent appearance on the "Dan Patrick Show," Tirico took some time to credit one of his biggest inspirations in the announcing field — the legendary Marv Albert.

“You have Mike Breen, Ian Eagle, myself… There’s so many other good people who do the NBA at ESPN, Dave Pasch, Mark Jones, and everybody else, I’m not just picking out anyone, but just the guys who we’re familiar with, and to be back in the group of lead guys with Mike and Ian,” Tirico said. “We are all disciples of Marv. And there are pieces of the style of how Marv called the game in our own personality that in all three of us, you can hear.”

Albert retired following the 2021 NBA Playoffs after two decades as TNT's lead play-by-play voice and another dozen years at NBC. He also served as the voice of the New Jersey Nets for YES Network before being replace by Ian Eagle.
