Terrell Owens hasn’t taken a snap in an NFL game since the 2010 season, but he firmly believes he still has some gas left in the tank.
Owens, a six-time Pro Bowler, played for the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys Bills and Bengals during his time in the NFL. The Hall of Famer finished his pro career with 1,078 receptions for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns.
So why is Owens thinking about where he’d stack up in today’s NFL? Apparently, watching Mike Evans light up defenses at 33 years old gives him some hope.
During this Thursday’s episode of the “Get TO The Point Podcast,” Owens mentioned how Evans is beating NFL secondaries without having any burst to his game.
“We were watching the game. Mike was playing, Mike Evans, and I was like, ‘Look at his routes.’ I’m like, ‘I can do that. It’s not like he’s blazing speed.’ He just knows how to run routes, knows where to go, and then the quarterback can save you,” Owens said. “Like, he was just catching some really average plays.”

Would T.O. have any success in today’s NFL?
Owens certainly tormented NFL defenses during his prime, but fans highly doubt he’d burn secondaries at this stage in his life.
“He’s one of the best all time, but you had your time man. Let Evan’s shine, he’s been a baller in the league since rookie year,” one fan said. “If you think you can do it, go try.”
“Get him in for a tryout,” a second fan replied.
“Bro bout to be 53… I’m sure he still in great shape but that window done closed,” an NFL fan declared.
“TO still had 4.4x speed a few years ago, so it actually isn’t that outlandish to think that he could’ve a least still played at that time,” another fan argued.
Would we love to see Owens give it another go? Sure, but we doubt that’ll happen.
