Yaxel Lendeborg and the No. 1 seed Michigan Wolverines found themselves on top of the college basketball world on Monday night after taking down Alex Karaban and the No. 2 seed UConn Huskies in the National Championship Game. Michigan finished the 2025-26 season with a 37-3 overall record, while point guard Elliot Cadeau secured the 2026 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player Award.
Lendeborg has now finished his first year with the Wolverines, spending his first two with UAB. And the 6-foot-9 senior forward from Pennsauken, New Jersey, proved to be one of the top players in the nation, averaging 15.1 points on 51.5% shooting, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Lendeborg also earned consensus first-team All-American honors, while being named the Big Ten Player of the Year.

During his lone season with the Wolverines, Lendeborg also built himself a solid NIL portfolio, which On3 values at around $2,000,000. The forward has partnered with numerous major brands, including Turbo Tax, CAVA, Wendy's, Auntie Anne's Pretzels and NBA 2K, among many others.
Lendeborg will also be hosting his own youth basketball camp alongside Cadeau, partnering with FlexWork Sports. Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 11, the event will allow participants ages 6 to 16 to take part, with the two Michigan stars set to “guide your child through an exciting, high-energy day designed around fun and unforgettable experiences on the court.” Campers will also receive numerous Michigan-related items to take home that feature both Lendeborg and Cadeau.
But on Wednesday, Lendeborg took to social media to announce that, due to winning the national championship, he and Cadeau were forced to change the camp’s date. The event will now take place two weeks later, on Saturday, April 25, at Oakland Fieldhouse in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
"Coming off an incredible championship run, we’ve made a slight schedule adjustment," Lendeborg wrote on Instagram in a joint post with Cadeau. "Our #flexWorkSports youth basketball event is now April 25. We are excited to celebrate together and get on the court for a day of fun and more memories. Thank you for your support and we appreciate your flexibility."
Following his senior season, Lendeborg is expected to head to the NBA, where some project him as a top-10 pick in the 2026 draft.
