Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons had an awful lot to say about the Washington Commanders’ overtime blunder against the New York Giants.
With the score tied 27-27 in overtime, the Commanders had the ball at the Giants’ 24-yard line with 14 seconds remaining on the clock. Instead of sending their kicker out there to attempt a game-winning field goal, the Commanders ran another play under center.
To the surprise of NFL fans around the country, Daniels took a sack despite not having any timeouts left. The Commanders tried to get lined up so they could spike the football, but time ran out.
“We have to stop the clock. We have to know the situation,” Daniels said after the Commanders settled for a tie. “We have to relay that as an offense. It starts with everyone, top down. Ultimately, it’s on me.”

Will this tie lead to changes?
During this Tuesday’s edition of his Bleacher Report podcast, Parsons said Daniels’ mistake in overtime is going to cost Dan Quinn his job with the Commanders.
“Jayden Daniels probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job, to be honest with you,” Parsons said. “To be honest with you. And, like, I’m a big Jayden Daniels fan. But the reality is, he probably cost a lot of people their jobs this past weekend
When asked if he blames Washington’s staff at all, Parsons explained why Daniels should shoulder the responsibility.
“Respectfully, we get coached so much on these situations that, like, I’m a defensive player, and this [expletive] is programmed to me,” he continued. “I know what to do in those situations. There’s no way I’m taking a sack with 14 seconds left and no timeouts. … Mind you, it’d be different if Jayden Daniels was a rookie. This is your third year. This your third year. You’ve been to the NFC Championship game. You’ve been in big moments before. And to me, even after a sack, you’re casually getting up.”
The Commanders are 1-3-1 heading into their Week 6 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. If they fail to pull off the upset, the front office may consider making a huge move.
