Mexico will be playing Chile for their fourth and final friendly match of the international break. Mexico are winless after three matches played under new head coach Rafael Márquez.
After draws with Colombia and Peru, Mexico played their rivals, the United States Men’s National team. Mexico won the last two games over the USMNT ahead of the matchup this past weekend, but they suffered a 3-0 loss.
Marquez’s team was highly criticized by fans due to the costly mistakes made in the game that led to the USMNT goals.
Raul ‘Tala’ Rangel made mistakes for the first two USMNT goals, including passing the ball to 17-year-old Cavan Sullivan, who scored his first goal with Team USA. Diego Campillo was not alert for the third goal, where Malik Tillman was able to run past and shoot from close range.

Chile has not impressed in this international break either, after losing to Canada and the USMNT. Chile lost 1-0 to Canada and then lost 4-2 to the USMNT.
The last time Mexico and Chile played against each other was in a friendly match in late 2021. The game ended in a 2-2 draw at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
