The Las Vegas Raiders are navigating a critical offseason, and although they have publicly remained committed to defensive end Maxx Crosby, a split is reportedly becoming increasingly likely. Crosby has grown frustrated with the lack of championship success in Las Vegas, and a trade could provide him with a fresh start while accelerating the Raiders’ rebuild.
Crosby, who was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, remains one of the league’s most dominant edge rushers. Despite battling a persistent knee injury that ultimately required surgery, he recorded 73 total tackles, 10 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, six pass defenses, one interception, and two forced fumbles across 15 games in 2025.
The 28-year-old was reluctantly shut down for the final two games of the regular season, a decision that reportedly frustrated him and fueled ongoing trade rumors. While the Raiders’ front office has suggested Crosby will remain on the roster in 2026, NFL insiders believe he is available for the right price.

Any potential suitors, however, would likely find that price steep, as the Raiders are reportedly seeking a Micah Parsons-type return in any deal. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported Wednesday that Las Vegas would consider trading Crosby if it received two first-round picks and a player.
"Per a league source, the Raiders are looking for two first-round picks and a player for the 28-year-old edge rusher," Florio wrote. "That’s what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons in August, with the player being defensive lineman Kenny Clark. The quality of player the Raiders want wasn’t specified. Presumably, it’s a starting-caliber contributor."
Florio’s report aligns with previous reporting from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who stated that while the Raiders do not want to trade Crosby, "if they even contemplated it, it would take a Micah Parsons-type package."
That asking price, however, appears ambitious. Parsons was two years younger than Crosby at the time of his deal, and his recent production and health history were stronger. He was coming off four consecutive seasons with 12 or more sacks for the Dallas Cowboys, while Crosby has undergone eight surgeries in the past seven years, including a left meniscus surgery in 2025.
The Raiders will likely have no shortage of suitors for Crosby, with the New England Patriots emerging as the top potential landing spot. However, convincing a team to part with that kind of package will be difficult, and unless Las Vegas lowers its demands, Crosby appears more likely to remain with the Raiders than play elsewhere in 2026.
