LeBron James continues to confound fans and analysts as he thrives in his new role as the third option in a talented Los Angeles Lakers roster. The 41-year-old forward from Akron, OH continues to amaze in his 23rd year in the league, averaging 20.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.1 steals a game.
The fact that the King still plays meaningful minutes for a competitive roster challenges what fans think about an NBA player's longevity. He's the only player still playing out of the legendary 2003 Draft class, and it'd be hard to imagine anyone matching his production and success any time soon.

James' most recent outing against the Dallas Mavericks proves how dominant he still is. He notched 30 points on an efficient 54.5% shooting while also grabbing nine boards and dishing 15 assists in a well-fought 128-134 loss to Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks.
While fans are still stunned that James can keep up with a player who wasn't even born when he started playing ball, a key member of the Mavs organization had nice words to say about LeBron.

DLLS Sports' Abby Jones posted a video of Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd talking about James in the post-game presser. The man who played against James 25 times in his career didn't hold back with his praise for the future Hall of Famer.
"Before we put LeBron to rest, he is showing the world at the age of 41, he can still play the game at a high level and he displayed that tonight," Kidd said.
"Again, at the age of 41, we all wish we could move like that. He loves the competition and it just shows no matter what age as long as you take care of your mind and body, you can do amazing things and that’s what he’s doing."
It makes sense that James continues to perform well despite his advanced age, thanks to the massive investment he makes in his body. While we may be seeing the final days of LeBron's NBA career, it wouldn't be surprising in the slightest if he somehow plays two more seasons of pro ball.
