Matt Olson believes the Atlanta Braves have the kind of clubhouse that can compete with any team entering the postseason.

After Atlanta swept the Houston Astros to secure the National League East title, Olson made his confidence in the group clear. The Braves first baseman delivered a simple message when asked about the team’s chances heading into October.

“I’d take this group against anybody,” Olson said, via Barrett Sallee on X.

The comment comes after a regular season in which the Braves dealt with several injuries while remaining near the top of the National League standings. Atlanta enters the final week of the season with the division title secured and can now focus on preparing for the postseason.

Olson has also remained one of the Braves’ most consistent offensive contributors. He is batting .253 with a .506 slugging percentage, 40 home runs and 89 RBIs through 156 games, according to StatMuse.

Olson has started all 156 games for Atlanta this season, continuing his remarkable streak of consecutive games played. His power has remained an important part of the Braves’ lineup, including a two-homer weekend that helped Atlanta finish its division-clinching series against Houston.

The Braves have also had to navigate injuries to several key pitchers and position players. Reynaldo López is on the injured list with right shoulder discomfort, while Lane Thomas has been sidelined by a left intercostal strain. Robert Suarez has also been working his way back from an elbow issue.

Atlanta will have its final games to manage its roster and prepare for October now that the NL East is secured. Olson’s confidence suggests the Braves believe the group they have assembled can handle whatever comes next.
