If Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t on the hot seat entering Week 3, he certainly is now.
The Packers were dismantled by the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night, as Bijan Robinson ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-14 win. Falcons wide receiver Drake London was also unstoppable against Green Bay’s defense, hauling in nine passes for 194 yards.
As for Green Bay’s offense, that unit struggled to get anything going on the ground. The Packers had just 17 rushing yards on nine attempts. They also struggled to take care of Jordan Love, who only completed 28 of 53 pass attempts.
“I think we’ve got to continue to work with these guys and try to figure out what we do well,” LaFleur said. “Because right now I don’t know what we’re doing well offensively.”
After the Packers officially fell to 1-2, which is the worst three-game start of LaFleur’s career, fans started wondering if a coaching change is imminent.

“I think we are 30 minutes away from a serious Lafleur hot seat discussion,” FOX Sports analyst Geoff Schwartz.
“Look, I’m not ready to fire Matt LaFleur … but I’d at least be interested to know who Mike Tomlin would bring as his OC,” Pete Bukowski of Locked On Packers said.
“Matt LaFleur gotta go bro. I don’t care what anyone says,” a Packers fan wrote on X. “Something’s gotta change. He’s ruined my team bro.”
“The Matt LaFleur era ended tonight,” a second fan declared. “The only question is when the front office is willing to admit it.”
The heat has been on Matt LaFleur for a while.
The criticism surrounding LaFleur didn’t come out of nowhere. Fans were furious that his team blew a 21-3 lead to the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round last postseason.
Even though LaFleur has frequently made the playoffs with the Packers, it’s starting to look like we’ve already seen the best iteration of his team in Green Bay.
If the losing continues, it wouldn’t surprise us at all if the Packers start over with a new regime.
Next up for the Packers is an Oct. 4 showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
