The Miami Marlins are making another roster adjustment ahead of Saturday’s game against the Washington Nationals, recalling corner infielder Deyvison De Los Santos from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The move comes just one day after Miami selected catcher Logan Driscoll’s contract. Driscoll has now been optioned back to Jacksonville, ending his brief 24-hour stay on the major league roster.
The decision gives the Marlins another right-handed power bat as they look for more offensive production late in August. De Los Santos has been swinging a hot bat in the minors, posting a 1.092 OPS through the first three weeks of the month.
De Los Santos returns to the majors with limited 2026 experience, hitting .286 with a .429 slugging percentage, one double and three strikeouts across three games. He can provide coverage at first base, third base and designated hitter.
His promotion also comes with first baseman Kyle Stowers still sidelined by a left hamstring strain. Stowers has been on the 10-day injured list since Aug. 10, leaving Miami with another opening to address in its lineup.
Driscoll, meanwhile, was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 20 after the Marlins needed additional catching depth. With Joe Mack managing shoulder discomfort while avoiding the injured list, Miami now appears comfortable relying on Mack and Agustín Ramírez behind the plate.

The Marlins enter the game at 65-64 overall and 39-25 at home, while the Nationals sit at 61-69 and are 34-33 on the road. Miami has also dominated the season series, holding a 6-2 advantage over Washington.
Miami’s latest move is a clear attempt to address its immediate offensive needs while keeping catching depth available in the organization. De Los Santos now has an opportunity to turn his strong Triple-A stretch into meaningful production against the Nationals.
