Believe it or not, there's a reality where Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg becomes the owner of an NFL team.
According to Ben Horney of Front Office Sports, Zuckerberg has emerged as a potential majority buyer for the Seattle Seahawks. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, was also named as a bidder for the reigning Super Bowl champions.
It was first reported in January that Seattle's franchise would go up for sale. A few weeks later, the Paul G. Allen Estate announced that it "commenced a formal sale process" for the team.
"The Estate of Paul G. Allen today announced it has commenced a formal sale process for the Seattle Seahawks NFL franchise, consistent with Allen's directive to eventually sell his sports holdings and direct all Estate proceeds to philanthropy," the estate said. "The Estate has selected investment bank Allen & Company and law firm Latham & Watkins to lead the sale process, which is estimated to continue through the 2026 off-season. NFL owners must then ratify a final purchase agreement."

Steep price to pay for the Seahawks.
The Washington Commanders set a record in 2023 when they were sold for $6.05 billion. According to Mike Florio, the Seahawks are expected to sell for at least $9 billion.
"When the sale happens (the process is expected to begin soon), it’s currently believed that the high bidder will land in the range of $9 billion to $11 billion," Florio wrote. "That would shatter the record price for an NFL franchise."
Is Zuckerberg willing to drop $9 billion on an NFL team? Only time will tell.
