Former ESPN analyst Mark May has landed a new broadcasting gig this spring.

May, the 20th overall pick from the 1981 NFL Draft, played for the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals before retiring from football. Prior to becoming a two-time Super Bowl champion, he had an incredible run at the University of Pittsburgh. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

As for May's broadcasting career, he was employed by ESPN in 2001. The Worldwide Leader in Sports made the tough decision to move on from May in 2017 as part of mass layoffs.

That being said, May has landed a new broadcasting gig with the Indoor Football League. He'll be part of their broadcast team for the 2026 season.

"The Indoor Football League is proud to announce its 2026 broadcast team. This group represents one of the deepest and most accomplished collections of football voices anywhere in the sport," the league said in a press release. "With a blend of championship-winning players, nationally recognized broadcasters, and rising media talent, the roster reflects the IFL’s continued commitment to delivering a first-class experience for fans."

He's not the only ex-ESPN employee joining the IFL.

The Indoor Football League announced that Jason Fitz will handle play-by-play duties along with Chris Sylvester. The league's broadcast crew will include Nate Tice, J.J. Jansen, and Pablo Iglesias.

Fitz was part of ESPN Radio's weekday lineup before taking his talents over to Yahoo Sports. He was one of the main hosts for "SportsCenter" on Snapchat. Additionally, he helped the network cover the NFL and college football.

The IFL's 2026 season will resume on April 4 with the New Mexico Chupacabras and Tucson Sugar Skulls.
