The Los Angeles Dodgers made big news on Sunday morning, making a trade for Cy Young-winning pitcher Tarik Skubal. But that's not the only viral Dodgers news of the weekend.
Mario Lopez of "Saved By The Bell" and celebrity TV show fame caused a major stir online with his AI-created video of him and his niece at the Dodgers vs. Red Sox game in Southern California on Sunday.
The longtime Hollywood star shared an AI-created video in which his apparent niece eats an exploding hot dog, covering her face in condiments. Lopez "jokes" in the caption of his video that he can't take his niece anywhere.
"Uhhhh, what a creepy video for Mario Lopez to create using AI and then post… Especially since the subject is his niece!" one critic stated.
“Oh my God, look at you!” Lopez, who hosts “Access Hollywood,” said in the video. “You're a mess, the mustard!”
His niece Kalia yelled, “It’s so good!”
Ultimately, the video was flagged by X with a notice that readers said it is AI.
Fans calling for Lopez to apologize for the 'creepy' video
Lopez has since deleted the video.
“Pound for pound one of the weirdest tweets I’ve ever seen,” Barstool’s Jeff D. Lowe wrote on X.
"He should apologize for this, honestly. It's gross and such a weird use of AI," one fan wrote.
"This is why AI needs to be stopped. Videos like this are just not needed and they are gross to watch," one fan shared.
"Check Mario Lopez for CTE," one fan added.
"I want to say this generation is cooked, but Mario Lopez is over a decade older than me," one fan added.
What do you make of the strange AI-generated video posted by Mario Lopez on Sunday afternoon?
Creepy or just weird?
