Indiana Fever forward Makayla Timpson continued to proclaim Caitlin Clark as her GOAT in her latest social media post.
Timpson was among the thousands of fans who watched Team USA’s first game at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup against China on Friday.
She witnessed her Indiana teammate Caitlin Clark torch China’s defense with a double-double of 14 points and 11 assists. The three-time WNBA All-Star also logged three rebounds and zero turnovers to lead Team USA to a 94-61 dismantling of their Asian opponents.
The 23-year-old player out of Florida State couldn’t hide her astonishment at Clark’s outstanding performance, posting a one-emoji goat reaction in her Instagram stories.
“🐐,” Timpson commented, sharing the Fever’s post.
What’s even more impressive about this Clark performance is that she came off the bench for head coach Kara Lawson. However, the former Iowa Hawkeyes standout still played the most minutes on the team with 25.
Timpson has had a front-row seat to Clark’s incredible play in the WNBA. The Fever superstar has been producing 22.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 36 games. Meanwhile, Timpson has been a solid rotation player, averaging 5.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 39 games.
Timpson also praised her other Indiana teammate, Aliyah Boston, who’s also part of the Team USA roster for the World Cup.
She shared the post about Boston’s performance against China, in which she finished with seven points on 60% field-goal shooting, two rebounds, one steal, and one block in 14 minutes.
Timpson captioned her Instagram story with “babes ⭐” to show appreciation for the four-time WNBA All-Star’s contribution in her first game in the tournament.
Clark, Boston and the rest of Team USA will return to action on Sunday against Italy for their second group stage game.
