Magic Johnson is urging Los Angeles Dodgers fans to stay confident after the team fell behind 2-0 against the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers dropped Game 2 by a 7-4 score on Monday, October 12, at American Family Field. The defeat followed a 2-1 loss in Sunday’s series opener, leaving the defending champions needing a response when the matchup moves to Los Angeles.
Johnson, a Dodgers part-owner, pointed to the change of venue as a reason for optimism. The team will play the next three games at Dodger Stadium, giving Los Angeles an opportunity to get back into the series in front of its home crowd.
“We’re now down 2-0 in the NLCS Series after tonight’s loss against the Brewers, but the @Dodgers are heading back to home field for the next 3 games and the Series is far from over!” Johnson wrote on X.
The Dodgers entered the postseason after finishing 100-62, winning the National League West. Milwaukee finished 103-59, securing the best regular-season record in baseball and home-field advantage throughout the National League playoffs. The two clubs have carried that form into a competitive championship series, but the Brewers have won the first two games.
Game 1 was a tight pitching battle that Milwaukee won 2-1. Brice Turang tied the game with a solo home run, and rookie Luis Lara delivered the go-ahead RBI single. The Brewers’ bullpen then held Los Angeles scoreless over the final innings.

Milwaukee continued its momentum in Game 2, overcoming three separate deficits to secure a 7-4 victory. William Contreras led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, including a game-tying home run and a go-ahead single. The Brewers also received five perfect innings from their bullpen, which shut down the Dodgers after the starters exited.
Los Angeles now needs to win at home to prevent Milwaukee from moving within one victory of the World Series. The Dodgers have the talent and postseason experience to respond, but their offense must produce more consistently against a Brewers team that has capitalized on key opportunities.
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at Dodger Stadium. Blake Snell is set to start for Los Angeles against Milwaukee’s Robert Gasser. Johnson’s message reflects the Dodgers’ immediate challenge: turn the home stand into a series comeback before the Brewers can finish the job.
