Olivia Miles, guard for the Minnesota Lynx, has had a terrific year as the 2025 WNBA All-Star break approaches. Miles leads Minnesota and all WNBA rookies in points per game (19.4) and assists (5.7) and has been a standout defensively, averaging 1.3 steals per game. The New Jersey native has shown a strong shooting stroke, averaging 1.4 3-pointers made while shooting 36.1% from 3-point range, along with 88.1% from the free-throw line.
In the Lynx's game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, the rookie sensation was having a tremendous game. At the 6:03 mark of the fourth quarter, with Minnesota leading Los Angeles 79-74, the Blair Academy graduate was driving to the hoop and passed outside. As the 5-foot-10 guard dished the ball, she stepped on the foot of Sparks forward Dearica Hamby.

Miles immediately fell to the ground and eventually had to be helped off the court and to the locker room. The former TCU Horned Frogs standout exited the game and did not return. The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game starter played 26 minutes, recording 18 points, four rebounds and five assists with no turnovers.
The Lynx were able to hold off the Sparks thanks in part to the play of guard Kayla McBride. McBride made two 3-point shots and scored 10 points after Miles exited to lead the Lynx to a 96-87 victory. McBride finished tied with Los Angeles guard Rae Burrell for a game-high 24 points.
"Olivia Miles had to be helped off the court," ESPNW wrote on X. "With an apparent ankle injury. She did not return to the game."
Minnesota will host the Portland Fire at Target Center on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
