Luka Doncic's Ex-Fiancee Withdraws Her Petition For Child Support

The custody battle between Lakers superstar Luka Doncic and his now-ex fiancee Anamaria Goltes was pretty nasty for a while.

The worst part of a divorce is when the young children get caught up in a custody battle, so the saga between Lakers superstar Luka Doncic and his now-ex fiancee Anamaria Goltes was pretty nasty for a while. But it appears Goltes is changing course.

In a recent statement submitted to the Los Angeles County court, Goltes announced that she is withdrawing her petition for child support in hopes of reaching a "mutual agreement" that is best for her children with Doncic.

“I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children," Goltes wrote.

That said, Goltes is still keeping her options open in the event things can't be worked out "amicably." The New York Postnoted that she has pulled her petition without prejudice, opening the door for her to re-file if needed.

The Battle

Doncic and Goltes ended their engagement in March 2026 after nearly a decade together, surprising many who viewed them as one of basketball's most stable couples. Doncic confirmed the split in a statement, saying the relationship ended because he had been unable to have their two young daughters with him in the United States during the NBA season, adding that his priority would always be their well-being.

Shortly before the announcement, Goltes filed the petition seeking child support and attorney's fees, while Doncic simultaneously initiated legal proceedings in Slovenia concerning custody and parenting arrangements, setting the stage for a complex international legal dispute.

The custody battle has centered on where the case should be heard and how the former couple will share responsibility for their daughters, who primarily reside in Slovenia. Doncic's attorney has argued that Slovenia—not California—was the appropriate jurisdiction because neither parent nor the children were California residents, while emphasizing that he remained committed to supporting his daughters financially and emotionally.
