LSU Tigers tight end Trey’Dez Green has a potential target for his return after missing the Week 4 35-6 victory over Texas A&M last Saturday.
The tight end entered 2026 as one of the country’s top tight ends after catching 33 passes for 433 yards and seven touchdowns last season. The 6-foot-7 playmaker opened 2026 with 14 receptions for 222 yards and a touchdown through three games, but he suffered a knee injury during LSU’s Week 3 loss at Ole Miss.
CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz provided an update on his recovery timeline, reporting that LSU’s “current hope” is to have Green back for the Tigers’ Nov. 7 matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
“An update on injured LSU star tight end Trey’Dez Green: The current hope is for him to be back for the Tigers’ matchup against Alabama Nov. 7,” Zenitz wrote.
The timeline, however promising, would keep LSU’s standout tight end sidelined for several more weeks.
Green’s mother initially said following the Week 3 injury that an MRI showed no tear in his knee. Green was instead dealing with sprains and bruises that wouldn’t require surgery.
LSU didn’t miss Green that much, as the Tigers beat Texas A&M easily last weekend, with quarterback Sam Leavitt throwing for 312 yards and two touchdowns. That said, no tight end on LSU’s roster caught a pass in Week 4.

Green’s potential return in early November would align with an important three-week stretch for the Tigers featuring Alabama on Nov. 7, the Texas Longhorns on Nov. 14, and the Tennessee Volunteers on Nov. 21.
