Earlier this summer, former LSU quarterback and current Washington Commanders star Jayden Daniels issued a cease-and-desist order to his alma mater relating to the school’s use of his name, image and likeness (NIL). As LSU prepared for their season opener against Clemson, the school appeared to response to his legal action against them.
During the ongoing lightning delay at Tiger Stadium, LSU showed off its “NFLSU” video, highlighting the many star players that it has sent to the NFL. According to LSU Football editor Preston Guy, Daniels was not included in the video despite his accolades in both the pros and for the Tigers.
“No Jayden Daniels on #LSU’s #NFLSU video,” Guy wrote on X.
“Never heard of em!”
LSU fans were more than happy to wash their hands of Daniels given that he’s taken legal action against the school. There have even been rumors that he sought to get his Heisman trophy removed from the school. As a result, most of the comments were dismissive of Daniels entirely:
“Not a surprise at this point. Isn’t this basically what he told the school he wanted to happen?” one user remarked.
“Smart. He would have been booed,” wrote another.
“I was hoping they would leave it so we could hear the boos,” a third wrote.
“Thats what he wanted so big whoop.”
“He ain’t bigger than the brand. Needs to grow up and stop listening to his mom.”

Daniels played two seasons at LSU, with his 2023 season being a dominant display as he completed 72.2-percent of his passes for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns in 12 games. He led the SEC in touchdowns, yards per completion and yards per game while leading all of college football in yards per attempt and passer rating. As a runner, he added another 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns, and led the nation in yards per carry.
For his efforts, he won the Heisman Trophy and went on to be the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Commanders.
