The No. 6 seed Louisville Cardinals' NCAA Tournament run ended in the second round after a loss to the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans. Despite not making it further, it was a solid season under second-year head coach Pat Kelsey. They went 24-11 (11-7 in ACC games) and made it to the second round for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
With the offseason in full swing, Louisville, just like many other teams, continues to make splashes in the transfer portal. As of now, the Cardinals' portal class ranks 21st in the nation, bringing in three players while losing six.

Still trying to replenish their lost talent, Kelsey and his staff are weighing more options still available on the market. On3's senior national recruiting analyst, Jamie Shaw, predicts Louisville will receive a commitment from former Iowa Hawkeyes forward Alvaro Folgueiras.
The forward wrapped up his first season with the Hawkeyes after transferring from the Robert Morris Colonials. He appeared in 37 games and made one start, averaging 8.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound big man also shot 50% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
With one more season of eligibility, Folgueiras is viewed as one of the top players to hit the transfer portal this offseason. On3 Industry Rankings list him as a four-star recruit, the No. 52 player and No. 13 power forward.
With Louisville searching for continued improvement under Kelsey, adding Folgueiras would be an exciting outcome. He could be their fourth transfer commit, alongside forward Karter Knox (Arkansas Razorbacks), guard Jackson Shelstad (Oregon Ducks) and center Flory Bidunga (Kansas Jayhawks).
