It might sound like an overreaction, but some NFL teams are fighting to keep their seasons alive this weekend.
The Week 4 slate kicked off this Thursday with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. Although the Steelers made a comeback in the second half, Todd Monken and the Browns got the win to improve to 3-1.
There are plenty of exciting matchups on tap for this weekend, including a battle of unbeaten teams between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.
With that being said, there are three games in particular that should feature some truly desperate teams.

It’s now or never for the Chargers.
No one expected the Los Angeles Chargers to start off 0-3, and yet, that’s where Jim Harbaugh’s squad finds itself heading into Week 4.
To make matters worse, the 2026 schedule won’t get any easier. On Sunday, the Chargers will take on the Seattle Seahawks on the road. They’ll be serious underdogs for that matchup – and rightfully so.
If the Chargers are going to save their season, they’ll need Justin Herbert to put on his Superman cape this weekend.

The Texans can’t afford to lose again.
For the second year in a row, DeMeco Ryans is 0-3 to start the season. Despite all the hype surrounding the Houston Texans, they’ve been unable to solve their September woes.
Could the Texans rebound like they did last year and make the playoffs? Of course, but an 0-4 start would complicate matters.
Suffice to say, this Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys is firmly in the “must win” category.

2026 Rams: all hype, no substance?
The Los Angeles Rams entered this season as the overwhelming Super Bowl favorites since they added Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett and Trent McDuffie to an already loaded roster.
Well, that star-studded cast finds itself 1-2 heading into battle against the Philadelphia Eagles. And with the Buffalo Bills lurking in Week 5, it’s imperative that Sean McVay’s squad claws back to .500.
If the Rams fail to take care of business against the Eagles, there’s a good chance they’ll fall seriously behind in the NFC West.
