Logan Henderson added another remarkable chapter to his young career Thursday, even though the Milwaukee Brewers right-hander walked away with a tough-luck loss against the Chicago Cubs.
The 24-year-old delivered seven strong innings at Wrigley Field, allowing three hits and two earned runs while striking out seven without issuing a walk. The Cubs won 2-1 behind Pete Crow-Armstrong’s two-run homer.
More importantly, Henderson’s latest outing pushed him into rare Major League company.
The Brewers highlighted the achievement through their official X account following his 20th career start.
Twenty starts into his career, Henderson has still never allowed more than three runs in a game. According to MLB, only Henderson and Zac Gallen, who accomplished the feat across his first 23 starts from 2019-20, have reached that mark among starters dating back to 1893 when excluding openers and pitchers who also made relief appearances.
Henderson’s consistency has been particularly impressive this season. He entered Thursday with a 9-2 record, a 2.48 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP before taking the loss against Chicago.
The outing also showed how quickly Henderson recovered from his only major mistake. Crow-Armstrong took a changeup below the strike zone out for a two-run homer in the third inning, but Henderson responded by retiring the final 14 batters he faced.

Henderson’s performance came shortly after Hall of Famer John Smoltz praised his pitching ability, adding another notable endorsement to a breakout season.
Despite the defeat, Milwaukee remains firmly in control of the National League Central. The Brewers fell to 87-54 but still hold an eight-game advantage over Chicago with 21 games remaining.
For Henderson, the loss does little to diminish what has become an extraordinary start to his Major League career. His latest outing simply added another piece to a historic run of consistency.
