Lionel Messi and Argentina are off to the World Cup semifinals.
Argentina outlasted a tough Switzerland squad in Kansas City on Saturday evening, winning in extra time. Argentina topped Switzerland, 2-1, thanks to a late goal in extra time, as the 2022 Word Cup champions were able to avoid penalty kicks.
Messi and Co., which won the 2022 World Cup, will be advancing to the semifinals once again. Argentina is set to take on England in one semifinal, while France will be taking on Spain in the other. We could be heading for an Argentina vs. France World Cup final, which would be electric.

Spain will be taking on France in the first World Cup semifinal on Tuesday afternoon, while England will be taking on Argentina in the second World Cup semifinal on Wednesday afternoon.
Both games will be airing on FOX, ahead of the 2026 World Cup Final, set for next Sunday, July 19, at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.
