Longtime "SportsCenter" anchor Linda Cohn has officially had enough with all the criticism surrounding U.S. men's hockey star Auston Matthews.

After winning a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Matthews and several other members of Team USA took a trip to the nation's capital to meet President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, Damien Cox of the Toronto Star released an opinion piece on Matthews accepting his invitation to the White House.

Cox suggested Matthews put Trump over the Maple Leafs in the middle of the season.

"After playing six games in 11 days in Italy and then travelling back from Europe, being rested and ready to resume NHL activity Wednesday night might have set the example a captain would want to set. The Leafs, after all, are in serious danger of missing the Stanley Cup playoffs," Cox wrote for the Toronto Star.

"Instead, the Arizona-raised pivot chose to jump on a plane for Washington, D.C. to accept an invitation with his teammates to visit Trump at the White House on Tuesday. Matthews went to a luncheon and posed for pictures with Trump, then skipped the dog-and-pony State of the Union address while the Tkachuk brothers and others allowed their Olympic triumph to be turned into a political circus."

Cohn had an issue with this headline from the Toronto Star: "Auston Matthews made his choice, seemingly putting the party and the president ahead of the playoffs."

The well-respected ESPN anchor fired back with a strong statement of her own.

"Be better," Cohns said. "I hope you don’t speak for Leafs fans."

Former ESPN star calls out Linda Cohn.

One of Cohn's former ESPN colleagues, Keith Olbermann, had a pretty aggressive response to her latest tweet.

"Hate to finally break it to you @lindacohn," Olbermann wrote on X. "I'd say "be better to you" but it's an impossibility You're a self-obsessed politically motivated clown who thinks HER leanings are sacrosanct and everyone else's must be suppressed We've indulged you all these years. That now ends."

Olbermann has voiced his complaints about American politics an awful lot ever since Trump won the 2016 election. We don't expect him to slow down anytime soon.
