Brandon Aiyuk, who not too long ago was wide receiver No. 1 for the San Francisco 49ers, has, by all accounts, managed to quickly sink his own value with each passing Instagram video that he continuously offers up to his 352k-plus followers.
While it's probably been somewhat difficult for most NFL fans to keep up with Aiyuk's ever-growing IG catalog, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler has been the latest to chime in on the current situation for the 28-year-old receiver, and has done so rather bluntly.
"I mean, he's lighting money on fire is what he's doing," said Fowler. "Every time he puts an Instagram video out right now."

Fowler expanded on what's essentially become a widely-shared thought throughout the league by offering up the following:
"He [Aiyuk] is on the [reserve] 'left squad' list for the 49ers, still. To get off that list he has to apply to [NFL] commissioner Roger Goodell, he has to file paperwork, I'm told that hasn't happened ... teams I've talked to say that he's essentially untradeable right now. And I'm told by some people around the league that when he does get cut, if he gets cut, that he might have to sign a vet minimum deal somewhere."
Despite Aiyuk's overtly clear D.C. wishes, along with many hopeful fans of the Washington Commanders that appear to be set on this as a foregone conclusion, it's not entirely clear that the franchise itself even desires to sign the talented All-Pro, if or when he were to become a free agent.
"It's a buyer beware situation. Certainly and clearly he [Aiyuk] wants to go Washington," Fowler continued. "Washington's not planning to sign a receiver right now, but maybe closer to training camp they [will] revisit it. But the outlook's not great for him right now."
Nonetheless, between the 49ers, Commanders, and Aiyuk, there has been one lone voice leading this fierce charge and that does not appear to be anyone other than "BA" anytime soon based on this past week alone.
For those on Twitter/X or Instagram, or any other social media platform for that matter, it's been nearly impossible to avoid the ongoing Aiyuk saga.
As ESPN's Field Yates put it, "Congratulations to Brandon Aiyuk, who has managed to crack my Instagram algorithm ... one of the most bizarre sagas in recent NFL vintage."
