Lewis Hamilton paid tribute to his late bulldog Roscoe on Instagram, marking one year since the dog’s death. The Formula 1 driver shared photos and videos of Roscoe, alongside a message about how much he still misses him and his other late bulldog, Coco.
“Being without my best friend has been hard,” Hamilton wrote in his tribute, adding that not a day goes by without him wishing Roscoe were with him. The seven-time world champion said he thinks of both dogs every day and remains grateful for the time they shared, noting they were there for some of the happiest moments of his life. “Today, I’m looking through these photos and videos, laughing and smiling so big, remembering those moments.”

He also thanked fans who reached out after going through similar losses, saying it meant a great deal to know how much Roscoe was loved. The post has drawn more than 500,000 likes, including one from Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar.
Lewis Hamilton’s Bulldog Roscoe and His Place in Formula 1
The Ferrari driver adopted Roscoe in 2013, the same year he joined Mercedes, and the English bulldog became a familiar face in the Formula 1 paddock over the following decade. Roscoe traveled with Hamilton through all six of his championship seasons with Mercedes, attended races and events with his own paddock pass, and built a following of more than 1.3 million on his own Instagram account.
Roscoe died on September 28, 2025, at 12 years old, after a second bout of pneumonia that year. The Briton withdrew from a Pirelli tire test in Italy to stay by his side, and later revealed the dog spent four days on life support before he made what he called the “hardest decision of my life.” Roscoe was put to sleep in his arms.
Lewis Hamilton’s Dogs Coco, Roscoe, and Halo
Roscoe died five years after Hamilton lost Coco, another English bulldog who was a regular presence alongside him at Formula 1 weekends, in 2020. Hamilton has since welcomed a new golden retriever puppy named Halo, who was flown to Los Angeles during the summer break and is being trained by Kirstin McMillan, the same trainer who previously worked with Roscoe and Coco.
The anniversary tribute is a reminder of how much a dog who spent so many years in the public eye meant to the driver and to the fans who watched him grow up in the paddock.
