Lewis Hamilton has given fans a taste of his life outside of Formula 1 with a post of him surfing in Bali, days after the Singapore Grand Prix, with Kim Kardashian.
The seven-time world champion recently swapped out his Ferrari cockpit for a surfboard, demonstrating his prowess on a left-breaking wave in Indonesia. The video went viral, and surfing legend Kelly Slater was among the many professional surfers who praised Hamilton’s performance.
The social media posts follow a hectic Singapore Grand Prix weekend, during which Kardashian’s fashion sense and backing of Hamilton garnered significant attention off the track.
Lewis Hamilton Receives Praise From Kelly Slater After Bali Surfing Session
Hamilton’s new surfing video provided a different look at the Ferrari driver’s life off the track. The video revealed that he was riding a wave in Bali, balancing and driving through the open face before finishing his run.
The clip received a brief but significant reaction from Slater, one of the all-time great surfers.
“Brah!” Slater responded to the post, and professional surfer Griffin Colapinto also praised the clip. Bethany Hamilton chimed in, applauding the British driver’s improvement in the water. Ivanka Trump also chimed in on Hamilton’s Instagram post.
Hamilton has been surfing for years, visiting places such as Malibu, Byron Bay, Bali, and Slater’s Surf Ranch.
The 41-year-old has said before that it is a way for him to get away from the pressures of his career. The non-stop Formula 1 schedule has left little time for Hamilton to relax, and surfing offers him a chance to do just that.
His latest post also comes on the heels of previous snippets of his travels with Kardashian, as the couple shared moments from tropical vacations and other trips throughout 2026.
Kim Kardashian Turns Heads at Singapore Grand Prix
Hamilton’s surfing was the talk of the internet, but Kardashian was one of the biggest stories of the Singapore Grand Prix weekend.
On October 10, the American walked into Marina Bay Street Circuit in a sheer, light-pink Alaia outfit with a high neckline and a floor-length skirt. The next day, she came back in a floral pink satin dress to cheer on Hamilton from the paddock.

But the race was not a success for the Ferrari driver. Hamilton finished sixth as a result of a blunder in his strategy.
Hamilton took the blame for the result after the race, saying, “Today wasn’t the result we were looking for, and it was on me.”
The latest social media post was a breath of fresh air after the disappointing finish, as it turned the focus away from Ferrari’s race-day decisions and towards one of his favorite hobbies.
