Jim Ross, one of the most beloved announcers and figures in wrestling history, is going through some health struggles.
The legendary wrestling announcer underwent brain surgery two months ago. While the surgery was successful, he’s not completely out of the woods. During his “Grilling JR” show, Ross revealed that a shunt put into his brain during the operation has been giving him problems.
Ross, 74, could be dealing with another cancer scare, too.
“I saw a little spot of something on my kidney,” Ross said. “So we’re running a lot of tests. I’m getting…my shunts are bothering me in my brain. So I’m going to get a scan tomorrow and get that back to my neurosurgeon so he can tell me what the hell’s wrong. It may just need to be adjusted, that’s my take on it.”

On Monday night, Ross took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask for prayers from the wrestling community.
“Getting another brain surgery Wednesday morning to address an issue with my shunt.
Positive thoughts appreciated. Thanks,” he wrote on X.

I almost died twice, from serious health issues in 2020 and 2023…it takes an unbelievable toll on you. Hang in there and know that your fans have your back. God bless and get well soon,” one fan added.
