The 2026 Major League Baseball season is right around the corner.

Football season is over, the Winter Olympics are complete and, before you know it, spring will be here. MLB teams have already reported to Florida and Arizona for spring training. Games began over the weekend.

The 2026 MLB regular season will start next month. The Dodgers will look to defend their World Series title, after another big offseason that included the signing of star free agent outfielder Kyle Tucker. Teams like the Yankees, Blue Jays, Cubs, Mets and others will look to take them down.

It's unfortunately been an eventful offseason for legendary Yankees announcer John Sterling.

The 87-year-old Yankees announcer suffered a heart attack last month.

“Everything is, I say, good,” Sterling said. “For people who don’t know, there isn’t any reason to hide it; at the beginning of January, I had a heart attack. That’s fine. The heart is fine. Sometimes, it affects your legs, and it’s affected my legs. So, I’m kind of waiting for the force to leave my legs, and I can get back out there. But I’m very fortunate, and all things are good.”

“I have four children, and I couldn’t have done anything without them,” Sterling continued. “They have been sensational in taking care of me. They’ve taken over all phases of my life.”

MLB fans sending well wishes to Sterling

"I wish even though he didn’t do the radio anymore, if he was able to give nicknames out to people on social media or whatever, because some of the ways I call players to this day are based on him, and I’m a Mets fan," one fan wrote.

"I'm actually tearing up. some people are loved because of their entertainment/performance, but John is actually a great guy. hope he gets better," one fan added.

"How is John Sterling not in the Baseball HOF? Unfortunately, he'll get in when he won't be able to enjoy it," one fan added.

"Get well soon, John. We miss hearing you every day. Get those legs back!" one fan added.

"Feel better John! You are loved in Yankeeland," one fan added.

Get well soon, John.
