LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers will get their 2026-27 season started on Oct. 20 against the New York Knicks.
While the spotlight should be on the Knicks since they'll raise their first championship banner since 1973, James will command a ton of attention since he's back in the Eastern Conference. Despite his ties to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat, he decided to sign a two-year, $8 million deal with the 76ers.
What we know for certain is the ticket prices for 76ers-Knicks on opening night will be astronomical.
According to TickPick, the current get-in price for Knicks-76ers on opening night is $1,999. That would make it the most expensive NBA home opener of all-time.
Ticket prices always skyrocket when James shows up to Madison Square Garden, but the fact the Knicks will be celebrating their 2025-26 championship run makes this game that much more expensive.

James said in July that he chose the 76ers because they give him the best chance to win another title.
"This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice," James said. "I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship. I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time."
As of this moment, the Knicks are the favorites to win the Eastern Conference at +340. The 76ers aren't too far behind at +390.
