LeBron James fans might be ending their nights frustrated after the Los Angeles Lakers star had a pretty quiet night by their standards. The 41-year-old's best performance for the USA Stripes came in their nail-biting first game against the USA Stars. The King notched eight points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in seven-and-a-half minutes of play.
James took a backseat in the Stripes' win against the World squad as Kawhi Leonard's 31 points pushed the team to the All-Star Championship. He then bagged five points and four boards in the six minutes he spent on the floor in the Stars rematch.
On the other hand, Anthony Edwards had a fantastic All-Star outing. He was a key cog for the Stars, scoring double figures in their first two games to book their spot in the final. While he didn't have an outstanding shooting performance in the championship, he did enough to get the All-Star MVP nod.
People were interested to hear LeBron's thoughts on the 24-year-old's performance in the All-Star break, and the future Hall of Famer was graceful in his response.
LeBron James Praises Anthony Edwards After His All-Star Game MVP Performance
The NBA posted a video on X of the Laker's interview at the Stripes locker room after the All-Star Game. He was asked about his thoughts on Edwards, and James didn't hold back with his praise for the first overall pick of the 2020 Draft.
"Love Ant-Man. Everything about him," James said of the Minnesota guard. "On the court, off the court, happy for him. First of many All-Star MVPs for him. I love Ant... He got a fan in me and a friend in me for life."
LeBron has three All-Star MVPs to his name, so he understands what it takes to be a great performer during a game that doesn't have high stakes. If the King is confident that this won't be Edwards' final ASG MVP honors, then the future will be even brighter for the young Timberwolves star.
