The four-time NBA champion has been with the Los Angeles Lakers for nearly a decade. Many believe he'll ultimately end his NBA career in Los Angeles. But it's far from a guarantee at this point.
LeBron James will have his choice of where to play in 2026-27 and beyond. However, it remains to be seen which NBA teams will actually get involved in the bidding for his services. LeBron James is into his 40s and, if he's unwilling to play for a minimum contract, that could limit his options.

The Lakers have to remain the frontrunner to keep him, though.
However, longtime LeBron whisperer - and ESPN NBA insider - Brian Windhorst is reporting that LeBron is essentially demanding that the Lakers come to him with a specific plan for his contract and the roster building around him.
Lakers need to have a 'plan' for LeBron
Windhorst said on Wednesday's episode of "The Hoop Collective" that the Lakers need to come to him with a specific plan.
“The LeBron side, from what I am told, would like the Lakers to come and say, ‘LeBron, here’s our plan for you. Here’s what we’re offering.’ And if they’re offering less than the max, here’s why: ‘Because we’re going to use this cap space to sign these players, and this is where you slot in.’”
It's not surprising to hear that LeBron wants to hear specifics from the Lakers before he makes his decision.
Still, you have to think that Los Angeles remains the favorite to keep him.
