There’s been a lot of discourse over LeBron James’ use of a helicopter to get in and out of practice from the Philadelphia 76ers. While some people are arguing over it being a good or a bad look, sports reporter Pablo Torre is looking into it for a different reason.
In a recent interview with Front Office Sports, Torre revealed that he is one of many who noticed a Fanatics logo on the helicopter LeBron has used. Fanatics was founded by Michael Rubin, who was once a minority stakeholder in the Philadelphia 76ers.
The implication is that the 76ers may be offering LeBron improper benefits as another instance of cap circumvention. Torre revealed that other NBA owners have even contacted him about it.
“We’re also getting tips from NBA owners, who are sending me your story, being like, ‘What is this?'” Torre said.
LeBron’s Fans Speak Out
Fans of LeBron had a range of reactions to Torre’s comment, mostly breaking down into two camps: Those telling Torre to back off and those warning Torre that Klutch Sports will be ready to sue him into oblivion if he tries to publish something:
“You know, Steve Ballmer was one thing but klutch mafia… Godspeed to him,” one user wrote on X.
“Pablo Torre got one investigation right and now every time an athlete sneezes weird he starts opening a case file,” wrote another.
“You are bored mista pablo, this is the most transparent person in the world so go ahead and fail,” a third said.
“Them black SUVs will be out front before you could hit send on an article,” another warned.

Torre made major waves earlier this year with his Kawhi Leonard story that resulted in historic sanctions for the Los Angeles Clippers and team owner Steve Ballmer. Leonard was ultimately fined $700,000 and traded from the Clippers to the Raptors.
Is there anything for Torre to find with this situation, or is it a nothingburger as so many fans are insisting?
