A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces hasn’t seen any falloff in her play. The Aces are coming off an 85-84 win over the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, with A’ja Wilson contributing 20 points and six rebounds. Guard Chelsea Gray had a team-high 21 points.
Wilson had the highest individual scoring game when she scored 45 points Friday against the Connecticut Sun. The Heathwood Hall Episcopal School graduate is currently tied for second in the WNBA in points per game (25.0) and tied for third in the league in blocks (2.0). The 6-foot-4 center is shooting a blistering 59.5% from the field and 66.7% from 3-point range.

On Tuesday, Wilson was rewarded for her play by the league, earning Western Conference Player of the Week honors. This is the first honor of the WNBA’s historic 30th season and was awarded for games played between May 8 and May 17. Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty won the honor for the Eastern Conference. This is the 29th time Wilson has won the award, trailing only Tina Charles (33).
The Las Vegas Aces went to social media to react to their four-time WNBA MVP winning the weekly honor. In an X post, the Aces shared a graphic featuring Wilson along with her stats from the week. Las Vegas also posted her stats while tagging A’ja Wilson and the WNBA.
