The LSU Tigers landed a big commitment via the transfer portal on Friday.

According to On3/Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, LSU has landed a commitment from former Ohio State safety Faheem Delane. He will have three seasons of eligibility left.

Delane finished the 2025 season with 12 total tackles in five games. Delane was a high four-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting class and the second-best recruit in Maryland, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was also the fifth-best safety recruit in the nation and the No. 55 overall recruit.

Delane will now try to be a difference-maker for the defense with an LSU program that is trying to take a step forward in 2026 under new head coach Lane Kiffin.

LSU finished the 2025 season with a 7-6 record after Brian Kelly got fired eight games into the season. LSU was 5-3 at the time of the firing, coming off a 49-25 blowout loss to Texas A&M.

Frank Wilson took over the program for the rest of the season, compiling a 2-3 record. Kiffin accepted the job as head coach after Ole Miss beat Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.

Kiffin spent six years at Ole Miss, compiling a 55-19 overall record. He led the Rebels to an 11-1 regular season record this season, earning the program its first berth in the College Football Playoff. The Rebels lost to the Miami Hurricanes in the CFP semifinals.
