Lance Archer was faced with a difficult decision after learning that PAC had died at 40, with the AEW star scheduled to wrestle at a Warrior Wrestling event shortly afterward. Archer revealed that he turned to Jon Moxley for guidance before deciding whether he and Marina Shafir should go through with their appearances.
PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, had been part of the Death Riders alongside Moxley, Shafir and other AEW stars. His death was announced by AEW on Sunday, less than 24 hours after he had competed at All Out in Chicago.
Archer told the Warrior Wrestling crowd that he questioned whether performing was appropriate given what had happened. Jon Moxley, however, encouraged him to go out and wrestle, reminding Archer that the best way to honor PAC was to perform at the level he would have expected.
Archer then shared Moxley’s message:
“There’s really only one reason I performed tonight because I talked to Jon Moxley who is obviously part of PAC’s group with Marina and him. And I asked him, I said ‘should we do this tonight? Should we perform?’ And he said, ‘You only get one lifetime.’ One, that’s it. You go out there and you do what you do. Do it to the best of your ability. Entertain the people who came and paid hard money. And you do it in honor and remembrance of our fallen brothers and AEW, unfortunately, has lost its fair share. From Brodie Lee, to the Butcher recently, and tonight PAC.'”
“The Murderhawk Monster” added:
“So he said, ‘You go out there and perform. You put on your boots and you perform. You go out there because that is what PAC would have wanted you to do. He wanted you to go out there and perform. Put your boots on, get in the ring, and kick each other in the face and enjoy life.’”
Moxley’s message reflected the leadership role he has often held within AEW’s locker room. Rather than asking Archer to step away from wrestling for the night, he told him to use the performance as a tribute to PAC and give the fans the show they had paid to see.

PAC’s final wrestling appearance came at AEW All Out on September 26, where he challenged Andrade El Ídolo for the AEW National Championship in the opening match of the main card. Andrade retained the championship after countering PAC’s Brutalizer submission attempt into a pinfall. PAC later appeared during the AEW World Championship main event involving Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay.
AEW announced Satterley’s death the following day but did not disclose a cause of death or any circumstances surrounding his passing. The company remembered him for his international career, high-flying style, and accomplishments after joining AEW in 2019.
Marina Shafir also paid tribute to PAC during the Warrior Wrestling event. She recalled hugging him and speaking with him just one day earlier before describing him as “the light of us” and encouraging people to tell those close to them that they love them.
For Archer, following Moxley’s advice meant turning an incredibly painful night into a final tribute to a teammate and friend. PAC’s work inside the ring was what brought him to that locker room, and Archer chose to honor that legacy by doing exactly what PAC had spent his career doing: performing.
