Another viral moment during Spain's World Cup celebrations came when Lamine Yamal joked that teammate Gavi and Argentina midfielder Leandro Paredes should settle their differences in the boxing ring.
While Spain was celebrating their 2026 FIFA World Cup victory, Yamal was seen holding a sign that read: "Fight of the Year: Paredes v Gavi."
The message was a light-hearted nod to the heated clash between the two midfielders after Spain's win over Argentina at the end of the match.

Instead of talking about the post-match drama, the Barcelona star decided to take a shot at the altercation by proposing a fictional boxing match.
The punchline was even more poignant in Spain, where the name of the boxing event, which is hugely popular in the country, is the name of the fight: La Velada del Año, or the fight of the year. The event is a regular occurrence, with internet personalities, content creators and celebrities competing in exhibition boxing matches in front of millions of online viewers.
Yamal was jokingly proposing that Gavi and Paredes should be included in one of Spain's biggest entertainment events by calling the matchup “Fight of the Year”.

The joke was based on the World Cup final clash between Spain and Argentina.
There was a lot of heated discussion between several players from both sides, including Gavi and Paredes. The players from both teams were seen pushing and arguing as emotions ran high after the final whistle, with television cameras recording the action.
The incident subsided without further punishment, but it was soon one of the most prominent topics of discussion at the end of the game.
