There may be no tougher division in the AFC than that of the North. Entering Week 7, all four teams are above .500. That includes the Baltimore Ravens even without their star quarterback Lamar Jackson.
He has missed the last two games with a high-ankle sprain, but Baltimore is still 4-2 despite his absence. Jackson suffered the injury on Oct. 4 against the Tennessee Titans, a game the Ravens won 24-18.
The team’s next game will be played against the division rival Cincinnati Bengals at home in Week 7. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
On Saturday morning, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN said that Jackson is “50/50” as to his status for Sunday’s game. He added that today holds great importance for whether or not he will suit up.
If he cannot play, then it will be backup QB Tyler Huntley making his third start in a row. Across parts of three games this season, he has completed 71% of his passes for 429 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Huntley admittedly did not play his best at the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, averaging just 5.3 yards per pass attempt in a 13-10 loss. However, he will be going up against a potentially easier defense this week at home in good Baltimore weather.
He may not even have to play though, as Jackson has been trending up since he returned to practice Thursday. He carries a “questionable” tag on the injury report into Sunday’s game and will likely be a game-time decision.

Jackson is 3-1 in games he started this season, tossing 967 yards with six touchdowns to only one interception. He is averaging a fantastic 10.1 yards per pass attempt while also adding 144 yards on the ground over 19 carries.
Sunday is the first of the Ravens’ two games versus the Bengals this season and it would be a huge boost if Jackson can play. The other game is scheduled at Cincinnati for Week 17, Thursday Night Football on New Year’s Eve.
