The Baltimore Ravens are currently enjoying a three-game winning streak, but Lamar Jackson was only on the field for 1.5 of those games. He’s been out of action with an injury since midway through their win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 4.
But it appears that Jackson is on the mend and may be ready to return to action as early as this week. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported this morning that Jackson has a “realistic chance” to return to the lineup against the Cleveland Browns.
“Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has a realistic chance to return for Sunday’s game at Cleveland, per league source,” Schefter wrote on X.
No Jackson, No Problem
The Ravens are so good in all phases of the game that they don’t even need dynamic QB play to win games. After pulling Jackson and replacing him with Tyler Huntley, the team didn’t even put up a single point in the second half of their game against the Tennessee Titans and still managed to win the game.
This past week, Huntley got his first start of the year and led the team to nearly 400 yards of offense in a 30-23 overtime win over the then-surging Atlanta Falcons. Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and tossed two touchdowns while adding 20 yards and another touchdown on the ground in the win.

It seems pretty clear that the Ravens have built a team that can win without Jackson – at least in small doses. But this game against the Browns marks their first game against a division rival this season. It stands to reason that they would want to give themselves their best chance to win.
Will Jackson get the starting nod against the Browns this weekend, or will the team exercise on the side of caution instead?
