MLS returns to action after the World Cup break as LAFC travel to Carson to face rivals LA Galaxy.
Marc Dos Santos' side sits fifth in the Western Conference standings with 24 points, four more than LA Galaxy, who are ninth with 20 points after 15 matches.
LAFC's Son Heung-min, Jacob Shaffelburg, Mathieu Choinière, and Stephen Eustáquio are all returning from the World Cup and are available for this derby.
Historically, the Galaxy hold the edge in the rivalry with a 10-9-7 record against LAFC in 26 meetings.
The two clubs have also been separated by just one goal across the rivalry, with the Galaxy scoring 57 goals to LAFC's 56.
LAFC Recent Form
The Black and Gold will be looking to pick up where they left off after ending a difficult run of form before the World Cup break.
Although they closed out the first half of the season with a 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders, it came after enduring a difficult run of form that included four straight defeats.
That stretch began with a 4-0 loss to Toluca in the Concacaf Champions Cup before league defeats to the Houston Dynamo (4-0), St. Louis City SC (2-1), and Nashville SC (3-2).
The victory over Seattle helped LAFC head into the World Cup break on a positive note.
Is Son Heung-min Playing Against LA Galaxy?
The South Korea captain will be starting against LA Galaxy with Dos Santos confirming his availability ahead of El Trafico.
“We’re happy to get Sonny, Shaff, Mathieu all back," Dos Santos said.

He also said the players returning from the World Cup are eager to get back on the field.
"They're happy to be back. They missed it here also. They needed a break. Sonny needed a break after the World Cup. I gave Matt and Shaff also a little break, but they all feel good. They all feel energized, and they're all gonna be in the game against the Galaxy.”
