Kylian Mbappe suffered a knee sprain last month that kept him out of action for weeks. Mbappe's injury was deemed serious, but he recently returned to action for Real Madrid.

The French star returned from injury last week and came off the bench against Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League Round 16. Mbappe also came off the bench over the weekend in the La Liga match against Atletico Madrid.

Mbappe was called up for the French national team for their friendly matches against Brazil and Colombia this week.

Ahead of the friendly match against Brazil, reports suggested Real Madrid treated Mbappe's wrong knee, as they reportedly examined the player's right knee instead of the left knee, which was the problem.

The Athletic covered the story and reports that the knee injury was misdiagnosed after Real Madrid medical staff performed an MRI scan on the wrong leg back in December. When no problem was found after a scan of his uninjured right knee, Mbappe played in three games for Real Madrid before the mistake was realised.

In a press conference in Foxborough, Massachusetts, United States, Mbappe was asked about these reports, and the French star denied that there was a mistake from the club when being examined.

Mbappe also makes a bold statement regarding his match fitness ahead of the rest of the season with Real Madrid and the 2026 World Cup this summer.

Kylian Mbappe Breaks Silence on 'Wrong Knee' Reports

Kylian Mbappe was asked about his knee examination and about the rumors of Real Madrid examining the wrong knee, which caused the player problems.

Mbappe denies that there was a mistake and said, "The information on my knee being misdiagnosed is not true. I may be indirectly responsible for this situation because when you don't communicate, you leave the door open to interpretation."

The French star suggests that both his knees are fine and is looking forward to the next few months with Real Madrid and France.

Mbappe said, "I'm glad to feel good in both knees. In a way, I owe it to my club, too. I'm very happy to be here, in shape and in good health."
