Minnesota Vikings continue their winning streak after a 23-16 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. Advancing to 3-0, Minnesota prevailed despite finishing with only 230 total yards, relying on strong play from its defense and special teams to preserve the lead.
Kyler Murray returned after clearing concussion protocol and made his first full start for Minnesota since suffering a concussion in Week 1. He completed 15 of 29 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His 41-yard touchdown connection with Jordan Addison helped Minnesota take control before halftime.
“It’s only week three, it’s only week three. That was my first game realistically, really, and again, like I said, 18 went down,” Murray said post-game. “I think we’re going to get better each and every week. I think that’s what our plan is. Obviously, like I said today, we didn’t feel like we played our best game.”
Myles Price gave Minnesota an early spark with an 86-yard punt-return touchdown, while the defense sacked Baker Mayfield six times and limited Tampa Bay to 3.8 yards per play. Murray’s return gave the offense another step forward, but the performance showed that Minnesota still has plenty to clean up, as he said, “We’re going to take those when we can. It’s not easy to win in this league. So we’re going to go back to work. We’ll get better.”
Vikings’ Overall Performance and Justin Jefferson Injury

Justin Jefferson’s early exit changed the game after he injured his right ankle in the first quarter following a 10-yard catch. He attempted to return, but the team eventually ruled him out for the remainder of the contest. He finished with two catches for 32 yards, and the Vikings will evaluate his ankle further this week.
With Jefferson sidelined, Addison stepped up as Murray’s biggest downfield target. He finished with five catches for 90 yards and a touchdown, including a 41-yard scoring reception that put Minnesota ahead 17-10. The defense remains Minnesota’s biggest source of stability.
Brian Flores’ unit pressured Mayfield throughout the afternoon, recording six sacks and 12 quarterback hits. The Vikings also held Tampa Bay to just 57 rushing yards on 21 attempts. The defense helped Minnesota survive an offense that struggled to stay on the field.
Minnesota now turns its attention to Week 4, returning home to face the 0-3 Miami Dolphins. Entering at 3-0, the Vikings face major storylines heading into Sunday surrounding Jefferson’s health and the offense’s search for consistent production.
