Kyle Tucker’s first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers has come with some growing pains as he gets used to a new era of his career. The 29-year-old right fielder has posted a .239 batting average, .350 on-base percentage, .693 OPS, two home runs and 11 RBIs through his first 18 games. Tucker is not fully living up to the expectations of his four-year, $240 million contract signed this past winter. However, it is still very early in the 2026 MLB season and he will get plenty more chances to get back on track. There also is not much pressure on Tucker with Los Angeles still thriving despite his individual struggles. The Dodgers currently own the best record in the league at 14-4.

With Los Angeles opening a series on the road against the Colorado Rockies on Friday, Tucker took to Instagram to share a personal update in a collaborated post with his wife, Samantha Tucker.
The couple announced that they had welcomed their first child. The post featured three photos of the family together. “Our newest addition,” the caption read. Tucker is fully in a new era now as he looks to bring his newfound dad strength to the baseball field.
Tucker remains one of the best players of his generation. Across nine years in MLB spent with the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs and now the Dodgers, Tucker has earned four All-Star selections, two Silver Sluggers and one Gold Glove Award, establishing himself as one of the most well-rounded players in the sport.
He previously won a World Series title during his time in Houston, and with the Dodgers looking for a three-peat this year, he brings plenty of October experience that will be helpful.
Tucker will have the ability to opt out of his current contract with Los Angeles after the 2027 season, and it is unclear what his future will look like after that. For now, his focus is on helping the current juggernaut Dodgers win it all once again.
