The New York Knicks fan who went viral last week for appearing to steal a Knicks-themed trash can during the team's NBA Finals parade has reportedly been identified and fired.
Last week, as the New York Knicks held their NBA Finals championship parade, the city brought out special orange-and-blue, Knicks-themed New York City trash cans.
Unsurprisingly, at least one of those trash cans was stolen, in a video that gained more than 5 million views on social media.
"Just like … Knicks Trash 🗑️ Bin Souvenir for your home 😂😂😂🗽🇵🇷," one fan wrote.
Unsurprisingly, within a couple of days, the New York Knicks fan has been identified - and reportedly fired.

"Angie Báez, 40, was promoted to Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement for Card and Connected Commerce at JPMorgan Chase more than a year ago, according to her LinkedIn profile," the New York Post reported.
"She previously served as Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at New York-based review website The Infatuation, which Chase acquired as part of its broader push into lifestyle and experiential content."
The video reportedly caused a stir internally.
A spokesperson at JPMorgan Chase told The Post,“This employee is no longer with the company.”
In her bio on The Infatuation's website, she was described as: “As a vibrant mosaic of Dominican heritage, Bronx roots, and a passion for storytelling, creativity, and culture, Angie continues to lead the way towards a more inclusive and equitable future for food media, leaving an indelible mark on The Infatuation and everything she touches."
Unsurprisingly, going viral in that kind of fashion did not result in a great outcome for her career.
