Will the New York Knicks take a trip to the White House to celebrate their championship run from last season?
The Knicks secured their first title in 53 years by taking down the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals. Jalen Brunson averaged 32.6 points per game in the Finals, scoring 45 points on the road in Game 5 to close out the series.
When asked in July if the Knicks have accepted an invitation to the White House, Brunson said a decision hasn’t been made yet.
“We haven’t discussed it,” Brunson said. “But as a team, we’ll discuss it and we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”

With the Knicks back for training camp this week, Mike Brown said the team is still discussing a potential trip to the nation’s capital.
“Mike Brown says Knick organization is still discussing making visit to White House as NBA champs this season,” SNY’s Ian Begley wrote. “He says that whatever Knicks decide, they will do it together.”
Do the Knicks have a choice?
Knicks owner James Dolan is close friends with President Donald Trump. He even invited him to Madison Square Garden for Game 3 of the Finals.
After the Knicks won the championship, Dolan told WFAN 101.9 FM that his players accepted an invitation to the White House.
“We just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted,” Dolan said. “We still have to figure out the details, but yes, of course. Look, I invited the president to come down for the game. He is a friend. I’ve known him for 30 years and I’m very proud to bring the team to the White House.”
If Dolan wants his players to visit Trump, we’d have to imagine he’ll get his way.
