The No. 7 seed Kentucky Wildcats' NCAA Tournament run ended with an 82-63 second-round loss to the No. 2 Iowa State Cyclones. It was a disappointing end to the season, finishing with a 22-14 overall record and going just 10-8 in SEC matchups.
With the offseason now underway, Mark Pope and his staff have begun to navigate the transfer portal, which opened on Tuesday and runs through April 21. The Wildcats were extremely active in the portal last year.
They brought in six players, while losing just two. Altogether, the group ranked second in the nation, behind the Texas Longhorns.

They have quickly gotten to work trying to replicate that success. On3's Pete Nakos reports that Kentucky is one school showing interest in former BYU Cougars guard Rob Wright.
"The three schools On3 has heard tied to Rob Wright the most to this point have been Arkansas, Kentucky and Ohio State," Nakos wrote. "Sources have said it could ultimately shape into a fight between the Razorbacks and Wildcats, but Ohio State is not shying away and is prepared to make a notable financial offer."
Originally beginning his career with the Baylor Bears as a four-star recruit in the 2024 cycle, he transferred to BYU after his freshman season. He was one of the Cougars' top performers, averaging 18.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists through 35 games.
With two more years of eligibility, he is now seeking a third program in as many years. It's no surprise that a team such as Kentucky is showing interest. On3 Industry Rankings list him as the No. 1 PG and the No. 5 player in the transfer portal.
The Wildcats are also looking to offset some of their losses. Pope is already set to lose seven players to the portal, four of whom are guards. That includes Jaland Lowe, Jasper Johnson, Denzel Aberdeen and Collin Chandler.
