Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell revealed the secret to her strong relationship with teammate Caitlin Clark.
The dynamic duo of Mitchell and Clark has emerged as one of the most exciting and successful tandems in the WNBA right now.
They reached another major milestone together during their latest game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, tying the second-most duo in WNBA history to score 25+ points in the same game eight times.
Mitchell and Clark helped the Fever beat Chicago, 90-86, to notch their 20th win of the season, as the former scored 27 points while the latter had 26.
During their post-game interview, the former Ohio State standout discussed how her relationship with Clark continues to flourish.
“We take our bond serious,” Mitchell said. “We like to think that our backcourt comes from love for one, and I think I want her to be great and vice versa. So a lot of it is just love and energy, honestly.”
Mitchell is the leading scorer for the Fever this season with 24.1 points, along with 1.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals. Meanwhile, Clark is producing 21.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 0.9 steals.
Indiana still has a chance to continue climbing the standings with 12 games remaining in the regular season.
At 20-12, they are fourth in the WNBA and 5.5 games behind the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx.
The Fever’s next two games will be at home, as they will be welcoming the New York Liberty and the Dallas Wings.
