The Cleveland Browns have spent much of training camp evaluating their offense, with the quarterback competition remaining one of the biggest storylines. But another rookie has quietly put together an impressive start after arriving in Cleveland this offseason.
First-round wide receiver KC Concepcion has consistently drawn praise during camp, showing the quickness and route-running ability that made him one of the top receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft.
He has also put together several strong reps while working with Shedeur Sanders, giving the Browns another encouraging development on the offensive side of the ball.
That made Monday's practice an anxious moment after Concepcion landed hard on his shoulder and was forced to leave the field. Fortunately for Cleveland, the early outlook appears to be a positive one.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the rookie avoided a serious injury and is expected to return after what has been a strong start to camp.
“Browns rookie WR KC Concepcion, who left practice today with a shoulder injury after a hard fall, did not suffer anything serious and the team is expecting him to be fine,” Schultz reported. “The 1st-round pick has had a strong start to training camp.”
Concepcion entered the NFL after two productive college stops that showcased his ability to make an impact in multiple ways. He broke out as a freshman at NC State in 2023, recording 71 receptions for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns while earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors.
He later transferred to Texas A&M, where he finished the 2025 season with 61 catches for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. He also won the Paul Hornung Award after continuing to produce on special teams, returning multiple punts for touchdowns.
That versatility is one of the reasons Cleveland invested a first-round pick in the 5-foot-11 receiver. While Concepcion doesn't rely on size, he has built his game around creating separation, finding open space and making plays after the catch.
As it looks, Concepcion should be back on the practice field soon as he continues building momentum heading into his first NFL season.
